Dear Friends, The next few years will bring many challenges and opportunities for the 50+ population of the Eastern Shore. The in-migration to our nine counties that had slowed down during the recession and the slow recovery that followed is now picking up speed again. The pressure on limited public resources from competing priorities is increasing without an end in sight. Come join us to discuss these and other issues that will impact our 50+ population over the next few years. We encourage County Economic Development groups, retirement communities, homecare groups, financial/retirement planners, and any other groups that are interested to join us.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER- Howard Bedlin
Howard Bedlin is the National Council on Aging (NCOA) Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy. Bedlin is responsible for all of NCOA’s legislative advocacy efforts on issues and programs that concern older adults, including the Older American Act, Long-term care, income security and community service programs. Bedlin has also worked for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the National Association for Home Care and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. Bedlin holds a law degree and a master’s degree in public policy, both from the University of Maryland.
