Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and BEACON at Salisbury University to Host 2020 Southern Delmarva Economic Forecast
(Salisbury, Md.) On December 6, 2019, Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and BEACON at Salisbury University will present the 2020 Southern Delmarva Economic Forecast at Salisbury University, on the 4th floor of the Guerreri Academic Commons. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. to be followed by the Eastern Shore Delegation Luncheon at 12:30 p.m.
In its 32nd year, this event is an unparalleled opportunity to hear first-hand what leading regional economists and business leaders believe to be the most prominent achievements and challenges ahead. Experts from around the Eastern Shore will gather to analyze the current challenges facing the regional, national, and global economy.
The 2020 keynote speaker will be Dr. Dustin Chambers, Scholar-in-Residence, BEACON at Salisbury University, and Professor of Economics, Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
In addition to his work at SU, Dr. Chambers is a Senior Affiliated Scholar for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and a Policy Advisor at the Heartland Institute. Dr. Chambers is an applied econometrician who has published widely on the topics of income inequality, poverty, and economic growth. His most recent research, about which he testified before the US Senate, focuses on the regressive effects of government regulations, including their unintended impact on consumer prices, entrepreneurship, and social mobility vis-a-vis income inequality and poverty.
