SALISBURY, MD – SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate hosted their 13th Annual Commercial Real Estate Forum on March 25, 2022. Also included this year was a “Fireside Chat” with local experts. Panelists included Dave Ryan, Executive Director-Salisbury Wicomico Economic Development, Brenden Frederick, Principal- Becker Morgan Group, and Daniel Mills, VP of Business Development- Delmarva Veteran Builders. John McClellan, Senior Advisor at SVN, moderated the discussion. Each spoke on the theme of “Supply Chain, Construction, and CRE Development,” discussing “pain points,” trends, and predictions in their respective industries.
“I appreciate you including me in your annual CRE forum. It is always one of the best and most meaningful events on the shore!” said Mayor Day.
“SVN | Miller Commercial Real Estate is the leading commercial real estate brokerage on the Eastern Shore, so it is good to hear their analysis on how the local market is performing while I share with them and their audience what is happening on a macro level. Specific to commercial real estate, rising interest rates will likely start to soften the robust market we have been experiencing over the last 24-months so investors should take advantage of the low interest rate environment we still have. While I predict 2022 will be another year of growth, the economy will remain unbalanced with supply struggling to keep up with demand. Couple that with rising wages and a low unemployment rate and we see higher than average economy-wide inflation,” said Basu.
Sponsors of this event included Merrill Lynch-Bank of America, Delmarva Veteran Builders, M&T Bank, Hebron Savings Bank, The Insurance Market, Capstan Tax, Farm Credit, TRS CPA Group, Avery Hall, Paradise Energy Solutions, Minuteman Press and WR McCain & Associates. SVN Miller was pleased to partner with Salisbury University again this year.
“Our main goal at SVN Miller is always to be a source of knowledge and a resource for the community. We use this platform to link our community with local, regional, and national market information and speakers they may not easily have access to. We design the agenda to include relevant and useful information for all attendees from relative market professionals up to million-dollar investors.” said Committee Member, Amber Bostwick.
