Salisbury, MD –  The Salisbury United 2009 Elite Girls team rounded out the weekend victorious in Maryland’s State Youth Soccer Association Cup. The team secured a 2-0 win over Bayshore Soccer Club of Centreville, MD, moving them into the Quarter Finals. Salisbury United 2009 Elite Girls is made up of players ages 13 & 14 years old.

Next week the girls will return to Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland in an attempt to become one of the top four remaining teams in the state. To do this, Salisbury United 2009 Elite Girls must top Maryland’s number two team in this age bracket – The Player Progression Academy.

Coach George Noonan said, “I’m very proud of the way that our girls have been playing. We have to play at our best to keep playing. There are only very strong teams left. We worked through a very tough opponent in Bayshore, and we are preparing for an even tougher opponent this week. This group of girls have been together for a very long time, and when you have this much chemistry in a team, it can be magical to watch them play.”

Locally known as the State Cup, this event is part of the United States Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the most prestigious youth soccer tournament in the United States, providing more than 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams.
