2nd Annual Deaf Blind Conference

Preparedness: Life Span Planning for Individuals who are Deaf-Blind

Deaf Independent Living Assoc., Inc. (DILA) and Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) have teamed up again to host their two day 2nd Annual Deaf Blind Conference. The conference will kick off on Thursday, September 27 at 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm with a pre-conference presentation by HKNC in collaboration with Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) on Emergency Preparedness for the Deaf-Blind. Then on Friday, September 28 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Preparedness: Life Span Planning for Individuals who are Deaf-Blind workshops will be held. Presenters will include HKNC, Bay Area Center for Independent Living (BACIL), Maryland Dept. of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), Maryland Relay, MEMA and a few others. Topics will include preparedness for emergencies, preparing for employment, preparing for aging and much more! Breakfast and Lunch is provided on Friday, September 28. Vendors will be available to provide resources.
