3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury | February 19, 2021

3F-February-Post

Salisbury, MD:  February 19, 2021 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury.  This month’s event is hosted indoors only – so that means no vendors outside on the street – but there’s still tons to do and see- from art exhibits to craft beer scavenger hunts.  So bundle up, grab some friends, and head out for a night on the town.

Downtown Salisbury is celebrating the month of “FeBREWary” with a MD Craft Beer Scavenger Hunt, now with ten participating locations.  This annual tradition gives participants the month of February to collect five signatures on a gamecard for enjoying MD Craft beer, with the chance of winning great prizes.   New locations on the map this year include Mogan’s Oyster House, Maya Bella’s Pizzeria, and the Looking Glass.

Salisbury Art Space will be open on 3rd Friday until 7 p.m., showcasing its exhibition “Good Riddance 2020!” – filled by area artists sharing what they’ve made over the infamous 2020 year.  Exhibition winners were selected by judges, local artists and educators Sarah Perdue and Heather Riser, whose work is on display in the Foyer gallery.  Another exhibit, Life in Watercolor: The Works of Katherine Wood Day is on display, with all works for sale as a fundraiser to Salisbury Art Space and Salisbury A&E District.  Katherine Wood Day, also known as K. Wood (1953 – 2011) took up watercolor after a career as a photography archivist, and rarely allowed her work to be shown during her lifetime.  Her husband, Michael H. Day, hopes the works will bring joy to viewers, and help raise funds for the arts in Downtown Salisbury.

If your headed out this 3rd Friday, be sure to support some of the amazing local shops and restaurants in Downtown Salisbury.   Lilac Clothing Company will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 20% off everything in the store.  Plus, the SU Alpha Sigma Tau chapter will be hosting a fashion show at Lilac on Saturday from 11 – 1 p.m. and 20% of all Lilac Clothing Company sales from Friday and Saturday will go to Dress for Success. Bomshell Boutique is another great place to stop and shop, as well as, Simply Salisbury, Kaiju Records, The Spot, Lurking Class Skate Shop and more!  Plus, you can stop in Angello’s Scoops or Cake Art for a sweet treat or Brew River for some live music with Best Kept Soul.

Concerned about social distance, not to worry!  3rd Friday’s virtual event will share local artist highlights, links to local retailers, black history month facts, and more.   3rd Friday is a downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in partnership with The City of Salisbury.  For More Information:  3rdFridaySby.com
