March 17, 2023 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and it is the perfect excuse to head out for a night downtown. This month’s event is hosted indoors only, so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street, but there is still tons to do and see indoors. From shops and gallery shows, to restaurants specials and live entertainment there is always something for everyone to enjoy – and it’s Saint Patrick’s Day!
Salisbury Art Space will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Spring with an all-new exhibition titled “Getting Green” featuring local artists interpretations of a spring, transition, rebirth and renewal in a wide range of mediums. The show is judged by Elvin Hernandez, whose work will be highlighted in the Foyer Gallery. Salisbury Art Space will be holding an opening reception for the show on 3rd Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. where award winners will be announced, and to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, limericks with Salisbury’s Poet Laureate Nancy Mitchell.
For more art, check out Salisbury University Art Galleries for the exhibition Brooke Rogers: Mura Vive / Living Walls. The exhibition features new paintings by Brooke Rogers, a well-known Salisbury University Professor of Art. The exhibition includes works based on his recent sabbatical trip to Rome and three-dimensional constructed paintings created-using cannibalized parts from previous works. This fascinating exhibition will be on display through the end of March, so be sure to stop by!
