SALISBURY, MD – March 18, 2022 the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, and it is the perfect excuse to head out for a night downtown. This month’s event is hosted indoors only – so that means no artists and crafters outside on the street – but there is still tons to do and see inside before the event heads back outside in April. From gallery shows, live performances, shopping and more, there is always something for everyone to enjoy.
Art lovers, check out Salisbury University Art Galleries this 3rd Friday for a live art performance titled “Between Heaven and Earth”. The immersive screen-dance performance by Jennnifer Leung Johnson is about the spaces we create and the breaks we rejoin through the process of healing. She interweaves dance, digital media, trauma research, healing frequencies, neuroaesthetics and interactive elements to create an interdisciplinary and multisensory experience. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Salisbury Art Space will be hosting the opening reception for its all-new exhibition “Common Objects” this 3rd Friday from 5 – 7 p.m., now on display through end of March. “Common Objects” are all around us, and are fun to explore – and art highlighting everyday objects was the challenge given to local Salisbury artists and Salisbury Art Space members this month. The exhibition includes work in all mediums, and will be judged by local artist and professor John Mosher, with winners announced during the reception. Salisbury Art Space is located on the lowest level of the Salisbury University Building, below Salisbury University Art Galleries.
