3rd Friday Returns with Outdoor Shopping & Holiday Cheer | Nov 20, 2020

3F-November-Post-01 (2)

Salisbury, MD:  November 20, 2020 is the next 3rd Friday in Downtown Salisbury, with another night of socially-distanced shopping.   November’s theme is Holiday Lights, complete with holiday cheer and an illuminated Christmas Tree!  It is also the last 3rd Friday held outdoors until Spring, so it’s time to stock up on locally made arts and crafts from 3rd Friday’s outdoor vendors for the gift-giving season.

November 3rd Friday normally coincides with the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, and while COVID -19 will prevent us from having a formal ceremony this year, the tree will still be illuminated on Nov 20th in time for 3rd Friday.    The tree will be on display in front of the City of Salisbury Parking Garage located at the intersection of Circle Avenue and Division Street, on the food truck parking pad right across from First Shore Federal and the Wicomico Public Library.   In anticipation of the Hanukkah and Kwanzaa seasons, a menorah and a kinara will be displayed with the tree, fully lit, until Hanukkah and Kwanzaa begin on December 10th and December 26th respectively, when daily lightings begin.   Plus, the Letters for Santa mailbox will be up in front of the Downtown Salisbury Visitor Center – it’s the perfect socially-distanced way to tell Santa all about how you’ve been extra good this year!

On the Plaza, artists and crafters will line the street with local handmade items for sale, for a perfect socially-distanced, open-air shopping experience.  It’s the last outdoor 3rd Friday of the season, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on locally made treasures for the holiday gift giving season.   Tops Cut Off DJ Team will keep things festive with a holiday playlist filled with all of your favorites.

Shoppers be sure to stop by Downtown Salisbury’s long list of merchants, with everything you need this holiday season!  From Lilac Clothing Company, and Simply Salisbury to Kaiju Records, and Lurking Class Skate Shop – there are lots of great finds for everyone on your list.  Check out the Plaza’s newest retailer, Bomshell Boutique, a trendy women’s fashion retailer offering 15% off just for 3rd Friday!   St. Peters Episcopal Church is holding their annual Fall Bazaar virtually this year, and there is still time to score handmade gift baskets on their online platform.

With this month’s “Holiday Lights” theme, community members are encouraged to participate by sending in photography and art inspired by their favorite holiday celebrations.  Submissions will be shared online in the virtual event, and in an event recap e-blast.  Facemasks required within event area.  3rd Friday is a downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in partnership with The City of Salisbury.  For More Information:  3rdFridaySby.com
