UMES science students et al will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest shaving cream pie

UMES science students et al will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest shaving cream pie Wednesday, March 14.

Plans call for the UMES pie to be 7½ feet in diameter. (The minimum requirement is 6-feet 6.75-inches in diameter), according to student researchers.

UMES students will start around noon filling the “crust” with 150 to 200 cans of shaving cream. The project is sponsored by UMES’ Natural Sciences dept.

Location: Carver science hall on the Academic Oval. We can assist with parking.

At 3:14 pm a panel of judges will measure the diameter of the pie; two from the U.S. Marine Corps and a local business owner.

After the pie has been measured and certified, students will purchase paper plates to fill with shaving cream to “pie” campus “celebrities” (similar to what the Baltimore Orioles do to their “star” of the game being interviewed on TV.)
A charity yet to be determined will benefit.
