From catching critters to fishing to practicing survival skills, children will get in touch with the outdoors during Pemberton Park Nature Camp.
Registration is now open for this Wicomico County Recreation & Parks summer camp, which is held at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury. There are 10 theme weeks from June 18-Aug. 24, each including field trips.
Pemberton Park Nature Camp is for boys and girls ages 6-14. The cost per week is $150 per child, and Friends of Pemberton with a family membership can save $10 per child per week.
“Pemberton Park Nature Camp is the perfect opportunity for nature-loving kids to interact with animals and learn about the outdoors in a fun way,” said Vanessa Junkin, assistant director of marketing and public relations for Wicomico County Recreation & Parks.
Each child should also bring water, a bagged lunch, a towel, bug spray, sunscreen, a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet and dirty (no flip-flops or Crocs).
Registration for the camp and for a Friends of Pemberton membership is available at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center box office (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.) and at www.PembertonPark.org. For more information about the camp, contact Park Ranger Bob Kreiter at 410-251-5336 or bksnakebuster@yahoo.com.
