Local triathlon group, Cambridge Multi-Sport (CMS), and event sponsors Tomey Electric and TCR Event Management, will host the 7th Annual “Firecracker Kid’s Triathlon” on Wednesday, July 4th at 8:00 AM at the Dorchester County Family YMCA, 201 Talbot Avenue in Cambridge, MD. Kids ages 5-15 are encouraged to participate with 5 different age classes and distances for the swim, bike and run.
Registered participants can bring any type of bike they wish, however, helmets are required. Kids will also have the option of using a flotation device during the pool swim. Lifeguards, City and County Police and CMS members will be prominently stationed and monitoring pool and bike safety and vehicle traffic along the neighborhood course. Parents, grandparents and community members are encouraged to attend this USA Triathlon sanctioned event to watch budding triathletes swim 25-200 yards (based on age group), bike 2 miles and run ½ – 1 mile to the finish line.
The registration fee is only $30/participant and all profits from this event will be earmarked for our CMS collegiate Scholarships benefitting North Dorchester and Cambridge-South Dorchester High School’s graduating seniors.
