Recognized for significant contributions in healthcare management excellence
Steven Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE, President & CEO Peninsula Regional Health System and Peninsula Regional Medical Center, recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award at the Maryland Association of Healthcare Executives Educational/Networking Annual Conference in Towson, MD.
Alan S Weisman, FACHE, ACHE’s Regent for Maryland and Lecturer and Undergraduate Program Director, Health Systems Management Program, University of Baltimore, bestowed the award on Leonard. The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.
Members are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
Leonard has served as President/CEO since 2018, and is board-certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence.
Leonard received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, his master’s degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD., and his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
