Civil War Heritage Day
September 7th 10 am to 4 pm
Poplar Hill Mansion is pleased to announce the return of our Civil War Heritage Day, Sunday, Sept. 7 2014 from 10am -4pm. We will have refreshments, civil war re-enactors, venders, local authors, music and exhibits of Civil War era artifacts. This is a free event to the public, but we will also have venders and Carriage rides by R.T. Pulley of Cambridge for $10.00 per person. Please join us for a day of fun, interesting exhibits and meet our authors and venders. If you are interested in being a vender of a historic craft, please contact Aleta at 410 749 5168 or allmanor@comcast.net for information. If you would like to contribute to our local food pantry, please bring non perishable food items. Any donations to the Mansion will go toward the restoration of our rare Joshua Thurston Pianoforte.
Poplar Hill Mansion, Salisbury’s oldest Federal House museum is on the National Registry of Historic Homes, and was built 1795-1805. We are a 501 (c) (3) and are open to the public and for private events, weddings, tours and more. All proceeds from our events go toward the preservation and perpetuation of Poplar Hill Mansion. End of Summer Tea Publicity

Poplar Hill Mansion’s End of Summer Tea is back on Thursday Sept. 11th at 11:30 am. We will be presenting a Fashion Show by Chicos and feature one of our favorite jewelry designers as well. Our menu includes fruit cup, homemade soup, tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, assorted sweets, and, of course Lady Gray tea. If you have never attended, our teas are sell outs, so please call early to reserve your space. We have yummy food, great fashions, raffle items to bid on and lots of fun! Cost is $22.00 per person and all proceeds go toward the preservation of Poplar Hill Mansion Salisbury’s oldest Federal House Museum, a (501 (c) (3).
While here, you can pick up a copy or two of our very own book of Tea Etiquette and Delicious Recipes by our own Kitchen Cuties, Rita Tiso and Louise Nock. For only $20.00, it is a great gift (the holidays are coming!) and a nice remembrance of your day at Poplar Hill Mansion. Come have a tour, schedule your next meeting or event, or have the wedding of your dreams at beautiful historic Poplar Hill Mansion. All proceeds from events support our preservation projects to keep the Mansion open to the public.
