SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico Recreation & Parks recently launched The Next Step Fitness Program, a drop-in program for individuals ages 50 and up. The new program offers exercise classes for varying levels of physical activity abilities.
Two different hour-long classes are held at the Wicomico Civic Center on Mondays and Wednesdays during November and December. The daily drop-in fee is $3 per person.
A stretching class begins at 9 a.m., followed by the Enhance Fitness class at 10 a.m., which incorporates stretching, strength training, cardio and balance exercises.
“Staying active during a pandemic can be difficult but is so critical to our physical and mental health,” said Recreation Superintendent James Simmons. “We are excited to be able to offer this safe and secure opportunity to the senior members of our community.”
Participants and staff are required to follow current COVID-19 guidance from the Wicomico County Health Department. Masks and social distancing will be in effect.
This program is sponsored by the Happy Timers. For more information visit www.WicomicoRecandParks.org. Contact 443-523-6555 or reedfrances@aol.com for additional questions.
