The American Cancer Society has a place where cancer patients and their caregivers can find help and hope when home is far away – an American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Last year, 31 Hope Lodges across the United States saved cancer patients and their families more than 38 million dollars on lodging.
The nearest Hope Lodge is the facility pictured here in Baltimore. Patients receiving out -patient treatment along with a family member can stay absolutely free for an indefinite period of time. Private rooms and bath offer a hotel like experience along with community kitchens, transportation to treatment, shopping and appointments are included. Patients frequently voice that the best part of their experience at the Hope Lodge is the opportunity to spend time with others who are going through the same thing.
