QUANTICO, MD – United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) was excited to host the 2021 United Way Open at Green Hill Country Club in Quantico, Maryland on Friday, May 14, the agency’s first tournament in over 10 years. 22 teams joined UWLES for a fun afternoon at the links – competing not only for the best round, but also special onsite games such as longest drive, closest to the pin, and putting competitions. Pohanka of Salisbury also offered a free car incentive for a hole in one, which was unclaimed during the beautiful day on the links. Thanks to the support of this year’s sponsors and players, UWLES was able to raise over $22,000 to support their direct and funded programs through 40 local nonprofit partners.

The day culminated in a presentation of awards with the top grossing team Pohanka of Salisbury and the top net team Delmarva Power. From the PNC team, Brian Seabrease won both the men’s closest to the pin and putting contest, while Nicole Ingley on the Shankopotmous Ladies won both the ladies longest drive and closest to the pin. The men’s longest drive went to Steve Emely from Pohanka.
