Alzheimer’s Association Free Education Classes

The Alzheimer’s Association is offering two complimentary general education classes in September to help educate the community about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Both classes are open to the public, and will take place at the Mac Senior Center in Salisbury.

On Thursday September 25, 2014 from 10-11:30am, the topic will be: “Know the 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease”. This program provides information about the warning signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and discusses the difference between normal, age related memory loss and dementia, as well as the difference between Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia

On Thursday October 2, 2014 from 10am -12noon, the topic will be: “Memory Loss, Dementia & Alzheimer’s Disease: The Basics.” This program provides a general overview of brain health; age-related memory loss; dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia; diagnosing brain disorders, and resources available to assist will also be discussed.
