United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES), recently facilitated an annual gift given in memory of 1944 Legacy Circle members, David & Alice Bernstein. UWLES partner agency Diakonia was the recipient of this year’s gift. They were chosen for their work to strengthen Lower Shore families through homeless prevention, veterans’ support and food insecurity programs. The gift is possible thanks to the Bernstein’s investment in United Way’s future community impact through the 1944 Legacy Fund.
