Salisbury, MD – Apple Discount Drugs COO, Zack Sherr attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore 2024 Graduation. Apple has a longstanding partnership with University of Maryland Eastern Shore. This allows students an opportunity for community pharmacy skills training at the Fruitland pharmacy location. They have been able to matriculate through all the departments and see the day-to-day operations and get real-time, hands-on experience with Apple Pharmacist preceptors in areas of Infusion, compounding, Assisted Living, Retail, Clinical Vaccination, Diabetes Education, and Infection control. The third- year pharmacy students have been eligible to apply for the Apple Community Pharmacy scholarship.
This year the recipient of the award went to Asmamaw Desta. This year’s Apple Discount Drugs-UMES award recognizes a student who consistently exceeded expectations. They demonstrated this by actively seeking out additional responsibilities, offering confident and professional assistance in daily pharmacy operations, and generously sharing their knowledge with peers to improve overall efficiency. Their professionalism and unwavering self-assurance significantly enhanced their performance and embodied the values of both this institution and themselves.
