Salisbury, MD – The City of Salisbury is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with Salisbury University’s Eastern Shore GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) to conduct a comprehensive housing quality study. Utilizing ESRI’s Survey 123 and Field Maps applications, the ESRGC will oversee the deployment of five student interns to conduct approximately 11,481 field surveys across the City.
Project Overview:
The primary objective of this housing study, commencing on June 1, 2024, is to collect housing quality information crucial for informed decision-making. The study aims to replicate the housing study conducted in 2018 to produce comparison-capable data. This information will be invaluable for making decisions about priority remediation, potential solutions, and neighborhood comparisons of disrepair.
Key Details:
Survey data will include observations of property degradation risk variables and estimates of primary structure foundation heights.
The Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland has generously contributed $19,426.53 in funding towards the total project cost of $52,957.00.
The primary collection dates for the survey will be from June 1 to August 30, 2024.
Initial data delivery is expected by September 15, 2024, with a full report to follow by October 1, 2024.
