WSW Receives Donations From “Tuna & Tiaras”

SALISBURY, MD – Women Supporting Women has received over $7,000 in donations after the successful event of the fourth annual ladies tuna fishing tournament, “Tuna & Tiaras”.

From Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, June 15, Pam Taylor held her tournament at Micky Fins in West Ocean City, Maryland. The tournament only allows women to enter and fish, which is partially why Women Supporting Women was chosen to participate in the event. Through registration fees, the silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle, Taylor was able to raise a total of $7,250 in donations.

WSW staff attended the three day event to represent the organization and run the table displaying information about WSW. The organization also held the Bra Pong Raffle, where participants played “Bra Pong” to enter. While fishing on Friday and Saturday, the ladies caught over 3,000 pounds of Tuna. After the scales closed on Saturday evening, WSW employees drove to Wild Bills in Ocean City, MD for the after-party, where the check was presented, trophies were given out, the winner of the Bra Pong Raffle was selected, and winners of the tournament were announced.

The organization wants to deeply thank Taylor and her whole crew of people who organize, plan, and run the event. WSW is extremely appreciative of Taylor for raising these funds for women all across the Delmarva Peninsula. We hope that WSW can continue to be a part of “Tuna & Tiaras” for years to come.

Thank you to Pam Taylor for her continued support. For more information on “Tuna & Tiaras”, visit their website at tunaandtiaras.com.
