The Salisbury School Named to Advanced Placement School Honor Roll

The Salisbury School

Salisbury, MD — [October 9, 2024] — The Salisbury School is proud to announce that it has been named to the College Board’s 2024 Advanced Placement® School Honor Roll, achieving the distinguished Platinum level. This recognition celebrates schools with outstanding AP programs that broaden access to AP coursework while achieving exemplary results for students.

Schools can earn this annual recognition by meeting specific criteria that promote college preparedness. As part of its commitment to academic excellence and college readiness, The Salisbury School has achieved significant milestones that contributed to its Platinum distinction. By enabling at least 80% of the Class of 2025 to experience at least one AP course before graduation, the school actively fosters a college-going culture among its students. Additionally, The Salisbury School supports college affordability, with at least 50% of the Class of 2025 expected to earn college credit by scoring three or higher on AP Exams. To further optimize college preparedness, the school has created opportunities for at least 15% of the Class of 2025 to complete five AP courses throughout high school, with at least one course in either 9th or 10th grade.

“With fourteen AP courses offered this year, students are able to dive deeper into a variety of subjects while experiencing a rigorous, college-level learning environment,” said Director of College Placement Gracie Ruark. “These courses equip our students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills essential for academic and professional success.”

The College Board’s AP Program allows students to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both through challenging courses across 38 subjects, each concluding with an exam that tests students’ mastery and critical analysis skills. The program encourages students to engage deeply with diverse topics, prepare for college-level coursework, and cultivate invaluable skills in college and beyond.
