SACC members and repeat customers joined Bury Diner on October 16th as they celebrated the opening of their new diner and SACC membership with ribbon cutting.

The SACC crowd was welcomed by owner-Chef Matt Kopal, manager Loretta Leatherbury and their entire staff, as they enjoyed a complimentary homemade comfort food buffet the included shrimp, fish, chicken, mashed potatoes, string beans, and much more!  Repeat customers that came to dine enjoyed 30% off their check.

Owner-Chef Matt Kopal is no stranger to hard work.  When asked how he started in the restaurant business he gave a sweet laugh and said “I left my country of Turkey 30 years ago where I had my own business and arrived in Delmar, MD and started in the restaurant business as a dishwasher because I did not know English.  But I knew I always wanted to have my own business, so I worked hard, and I opened the Red Roof Family Restaurant in Pocomoke.  It was a realtor friend of mine that told me this space became available. I decided to check it out and made the decision to open my second restaurant.”
