Holiday Lights

SALISBURY, Maryland — The City of Salisbury invites the community to the 2nd Annual Holiday Lights celebration in Downtown Salisbury on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This festive event is free and open to the public, promising an evening of entertainment, seasonal shopping, and community spirit. Attendees can expect to arrive at a winter wonderland full of holiday ambiance.

The event will feature special dance performances by beloved local groups, including Heart & Sole Step Team, Footsteps Dance Academy, and Feet of Fire Dance Academy, at Unity Square throughout the evening. Guests will also enjoy the melodic sounds of the Delmarva Bay Brass ensemble performing holiday classics, as well as the Salisbury School Children’s Choir presenting a selection of holiday carols. The event will culminate in a tree-lighting ceremony, led by Salisbury University’s Squawkappella, an A Cappella group, performing contemporary holiday favorites.

Visitors can complete their holiday shopping at the event’s Holiday Market, which will showcase a variety of local vendors. Downtown Salisbury businesses will also be open for additional shopping opportunities.

Santa Claus will make an appearance at Unity Square, greeting visitors and spreading holiday cheer. Families are invited to participate in gingerbread decorating, where all necessary supplies, including gingerbread people, icing, and candy, will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag of candy to share if there are particular items they wish to use for decorating. Participation does not require reservations and is available while supplies last.

In the spirit of giving, inspired attendees may bring a new, unwrapped gift to donate to Toys for Tots, supporting children in need during the holiday season.

To ensure this event is marked on your calendar, RSVP to the event on Facebook and tell your family and friends. The City of Salisbury looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors for an evening filled with the joy and warmth of the holiday season.
