The Rotary Club of Salisbury is pleased to welcome to its Thursday, March 5 meeting Wicomico County educator Kristin Cashman. Her presentation is “Breaking Down Apathetic Walls-The Importance of Building Community and Early Education Intervention.”
Cashman, a 1998 graduate of Salisbury University and daughter of Rotary Club of Salisbury member Jack Heath, holds a degree in elementary education and currently teaches reading intervention at Wicomico Middle School while pursuing a Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist.
As the 2013-2014 Wicomico County Teacher of the Year and Master Teacher, she keynotes at numerous schools, universities, and community organizations. Representing her school and county on numerous committees and with presentations, she is able to share insight and new knowledge with other professionals.
Serving as a Professional Development School trained mentor and co-site coordinator for local university education majors, Cashman works with future teachers. Volunteering for various church, government, and non-profit groups allows her to connect with the community that has given her so much.
The Rotary Club of Salisbury meets every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Rotary Scout and Community Center at 1715 Riverside Drive in Salisbury.
