Salisbury, MD –Steve Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE, TidalHealth President/CEO, has announced the hiring of Demile “Demi” Gilmore, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, as the health system’s Vice President & Chief Human Resources (HR) Officer. She will oversee all People Department and HR functions and responsibilities for TidalHealth.
Most recently, Gilmore had been the Regional Vice President of Human Resources for MedStar Health in Baltimore, a health system with more than 34,000 associates. Her primary responsibilities were delivering HR strategy, support and HR services for the Baltimore regional hospitals and health system, while developing HR solutions to support and enhance business operations.
“Demi is an exceptional leader with more than 20 years of experience effectively leading domestic and global HR teams in both the private business and healthcare sectors,” said Leonard. “She brings to TidalHealth valuable knowledge in employee engagement, diversity & inclusion, talent management and development and organizational effectiveness. We’re excited to have her join our team.”
Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY in Television and Radio, a Master of Arts/Human Resources Management from Marymount University in Arlington, Va. and an MBA from Cornell University in Ithaca.
She replaces Mitzi Scott, who retired from the role in January following 12 years as Vice President of People. Scott had been with TidalHealth for 22 years. “We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Mitzi on her well-deserved retirement’” added Leonard. “Throughout her distinguished career, she has made invaluable contributions to the field of Human Resources and has exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and leadership.”
