Seaford, DE —TidalHealth Nanticoke is entering the final phases of renovations to the fourth and fifth floor of the Seaford, Del. hospital. The work to enhance the safety, appearance and delivery of healthcare has impacted the Specialty Surgical and Robotics Unit (SSRU) and the Obstetrics Unit (OB).
The final transition of those renovations will begin on Thursday, Feb. 20 when the OB Unit, currently in a space on the first floor, returns permanently to its traditional home on the fourth floor now that renovations there have been completed.
On Friday, March 14, the SSRU will move one final time to that same space on the first floor—the former Pediatrics Short Stay Unit and a portion of the Clinical Decision Unit—while the final pieces of the SSRU update and put in place. The SSRU is expected to be on the first floor for approximately seven months before returning to its permanent home of the 5th floor.
While the renovations are underway, TidalHealth team members, including our Security officers, will be available to assist visitors in reaching the rooms of their loved ones, and we’ll have signage posted at the front desk, the ED, in Same Day Surgery Waiting and at the elevators, reminding all visitors of the temporary changes.
In this final move, the SSRU administrative and clinical teams will relocate with the patients, resulting in no lapse or change in the quality of care.
TidalHealth apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause in the short term but looks forward to an improved healthcare experience for patients and their loved ones upon completion of the renovations.
