
The Nature Conservancy’s Maryland/DC chapter proudly announces that its 30-minute documentary, “On Water’s Edge,” has been awarded First Place in the Documentary Short Film category at the 2025 Ocean City Film Festival. The film, co-directed by Severn Smith and Madame Clarissa Dutchess of Durham, highlights the community of Crisfield, Maryland.
“On Water’s Edge” explores the intricate relationship between human communities and aquatic environments, highlighting conservation efforts and the importance of preserving these vital areas for future generations.
In addition to its festival success, “On Water’s Edge” is scheduled for multiple broadcasts on Maryland Public Television (MPT) during Chesapeake Bay Week, offering viewers several opportunities to experience the documentary:
- Thursday, April 24 at 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM
- Friday, April 25 at 2:30 AM
Chesapeake Bay Week is an annual MPT event dedicated to programming that spotlights the history, heritage, and splendor of the Chesapeake Bay.
