Please join the Wiersberg Warriors Foundation on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Redmen’s Tony Tank Lodge in Fruitland, MD, for our 4th annual chicken BBQ fundraiser. Dinners are $10, with sales starting at 10 a.m.
Wiersberg Warriors Foundation is a local nonprofit established in 2022 in memory of Fruitland OFC Spencer Wiersberg, our son and Brother. Spencer is the quintessential Eastern Shore man, who grew up hunting and fishing with his grandfather and little sister, Sam. He was a lifelong athlete, playing soccer, lacrosse, and football at James M. Bennett. Recruited by McDaniel College, where he was the starting kicker and leading scorer for all 4 years.
Spencer graduated McDaniel College a semester early to enter the police academy for Fruitland PD in January 2018. During his short career, he was honored by MADD and was selected by his peers as Officer of the Year.
In February of 2019, Spencer was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer. As with all the endeavors in his life, Spencer gave every ounce of his strength, courage, and determination to his fight.
Heartbreakingly, his End of Watch came on January 12, 2020. Spencer’s family started Wiersberg Warriors Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization to continue Spencer’s mission of protecting and serving his community.
100% of donations stay on the Eastern Shore, supporting young adults battling cancer or other serious illnesses or injuries. Wiersberg Warriors in a 501(c)3 established in honor of Fruitland Police OFC Spencer Wiersberg.
Please join us for the 4th Annual Chicken BBQ Dinner as we strive to remind these other young warriors that No One Fights Alone.
