
Salisbury, MD– The TidalHealth Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Tanisha Armstrong as the health system’s new Grant Manager.
With more than three decades of experience in grants management—including 19 years focused on federal funding—Armstrong brings exceptional expertise and a deep passion for community health to her new role.

Armstrong is a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) and is currently completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) at Emory University, with graduation expected in August 2025.
Armstrong’s professional career spans over 20 years as a nonprofit consultant, where she specialized in strengthening organizational capacity, funding strategies, and program sustainability. Her impressive track record in grants development and administration has helped numerous organizations secure critical funding for health and social service initiatives.
Deeply committed to community service, Armstrong has served as a board member for several local nonprofits and actively contributes her expertise to initiatives that uplift underserved populations.
Her passion lies in patient advocacy. She serves as a committee member, facilitator, and workshop leader for The PATIENTS Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, helping ensure research reflects the real needs and voices of patients. She was also previously a featured speaker for the National Health Council’s Science of Patient Engagement Symposium, contributing thoughtful leadership on equitable and inclusive health engagement.
Away from the office, Armstrong enjoys reading a good book, relaxing near the water, writing and gathering with friends and family.
