Mountaire’s 2025 Annual Scholarship Winners Announced

Millsboro, DE –  Mountaire Farms, the nation’s fourth-largest chicken company, recently announced that 31 students would each receive a $2,500 scholarship to help them pay for college.

Children and grandchildren of employees, growers, and grain producers were eligible for the scholarship, and more than 80 applied. “This is a highly competitive event each year, and we are honored to support the families who mean so much to Mountaire,” said Amanda Irwin, President of Mountaire Farms.

Winners on Delmarva will be invited to Mountaire’s Faith and Family Night at the Delmarva Shorebirds on June 14th where they will be recognized on the field before the game and enjoy dinner with Mountaire executives. In North Carolina, scholarship winners will be honored at Mountaire’s Faith and Family Night at the Fayetteville Woodpeckers game, also on Saturday, June 14th, 2025.

2025 Scholarship Recipients, North Carolina: 

 Mansour Adamou-Mohamed, from Jamestown, NC., attends North Carolina State University. His mother, Ghaisa Yahaya-Mohamed, works at our Siler City processing plant.

 Cade Auman, from Seagrove, NC. His parents grow broilers for us for our Siler City processing plant.  He attends the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.

 Weston Brown, from Hiddenite, NC. He will be attending Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, NC. His father, Brandon Brown, works in our Statesville breeder division.

 Macy Chapman, from Taylorsville, NC, is attending North Carolina State University. Her parents are breeder growers for Mountaire.

Micah Chapman, from Taylorsville, NC, is attending North Carolina State University. His parents are also breeder growers for Mountaire.

Laryn Echerd, from Taylorsville, NC, is attending North Carolina State University. Her parents are breeder growers for Mountaire.

I’Nia Hough, from Fayetteville, NC, attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her father, Q’ianna Martin, works at our Scotland County Feed Mill.

Howard Jacobs, from Raleigh, NC, attends North Carolina State University. His father, Bobby Jacobs, works at our Lumber Bridge processing plant.

Jailene Lemus Hurtado, from Broadway, NC, attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her father, Juan Lemus Chavez, works at our Siler City processing plant.

Addison O’Neal, from Rockingham, NC, attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her grandfather, Eddie McDonald, works at our Candor Feed Mill.

Emma Patterson, of Sanford, NC, attends Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC. Her father, Dustin Patterson, works at our Siler City processing plant.

Thompson Stone, of Rowland, NC, is awaiting a decision. His father grows grain for Mountaire.

Kaylee Thomas, from Fayetteville, NC, attends the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Her mother, Tiffany Thomas, works at the Siler City processing plant.

Callie Trexler, of Salisbury, NC, attends Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. Her father, Darrin Trexler, grows grain for Mountaire.

Zaara Wandawi, of Raeford, NC, attends the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her father, Almass Othman, works at our Lumber Bridge processing plant.

 Reagan Ains, from Eden, MD, attends Salisbury University. Her father, Glenn Ains, grows broilers for Mountaire.

Ashley Alvarez Chavez, from Lincoln, DE, is awaiting a decision. Her father, Marlon Alvarez Chanax, works at our Selbyville processing plant.

Rodina Ataya, from Salisbury, MD, attends Salisbury University. Her father, Ayman Ataya, works at our Selbyville processing plant.

Nabiha Chaudry, from Federalsburg, MD, attends Montgomery College in Germantown, MD. Her father, Raza Chaudry, grows broilers for Mountaire.

Aubrey Clark, from Centreville, MD, attends Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, PA. Her mother, Melissa Clark, works at our Wye Mills grain facility.

Anna Coverdale, from Milford, DE, attends the University of Delaware. Her father, Gregory Coverdale, works at our Millsboro processing plant.

Dawt Cuai, from Laurel, DE, attends Delaware Technical Community College. Her parents grow broilers for Mountaire.

Taylor Harding, from Grasonville, MD, who plans to attend Stevenson University. Her father, Erik Field, works at the Wye Mills grain facility.

Donne’ Henry, from Frankford, DE, attends Delaware State University. Her mother, Gwendolen Hall, works at our Millsboro grain facility.

 Jenna Morris, from Virginia Beach, VA, attends The College of William and Mary. Her grandfather, Ray Newman, grows grain for Mountaire.

Rachel O’Day, from Seaford, DE, attends the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.  Her father, William O’Day, grows grain for Mountaire.

Samrana Sheikh, from Princess Anne, MD, attends the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, in Princess Anne, MD. Her father, Mohammad Sheikh, grows broilers for Mountaire.

Kameron Tindley, from Frankford, DE, attends Georgian Court University, in Lakewood, NJ. His grandfather, Carvela Jarmon, works at our Selbyville processing plant.

Cade Vanderslice, from Laurel, DE, attends Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. His father, Patrick Vanderslice, works for the grow-out team in Selbyville.

Dakota Yvonne Fallynn Wilkerson, from Georgetown, DE, attends Delaware Technical Community College.  Her father, Joseph LeBlanc, works at our Frankford Feed Mill.
