Shore Legal Access to Host Medicaid & Asset Protection Event at Talbot County Free Library on July 21 with Attorney Jason Frank, Esq.

Medicaid and Asset Protection Event

On Monday, July 21, Shore Legal Access will host a presentation by Maryland attorney Jason Frank, Esq., an expert in Elder and Disability Law, on “Medicaid and Asset Protection” at the Talbot County Free Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At a time when so many changes are occurring with Medicaid and other federal programs for older adults, this presentation will be an important opportunity to get information about how these changes could affect you and your loved ones and what you can do to protect your assets. Frank will address questions from participants.

The son of a World War II combat-disabled veteran, who inspired him to focus his practice on elder law, Frank is a pioneer in the field.  Throughout his career, he has worked to ensure that seniors and people with disabilities are heard, respected, and fully included in community life. With over forty years’ experience protecting the rights of seniors and individuals with disabilities, Frank is one of only seven practicing CELA attorneys in Maryland – which, according to the National Elder Law Foundation, means he has reached the highest level of expertise in elder and special needs law.

In addition to private practice, Frank has taught at The University of Maryland Carey School of Law, The University of Baltimore School of Law, Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, Stetson University College of Law, and Tulane University Law School.

“People who attend this program will acquire a basic understanding of the Medicaid eligibility rules,” Franks said, “and how married applicants can protect the maximum amount of assets for their well spouse.”

The Talbot County Library is located at 100 W. Dover St. in Easton. Those interested in attending can register by calling 410-200-5027.
