Salisbury, MD — The City of Salisbury remains committed to ensuring that all residents and visitors have safe and accessible pathways throughout our community. As part of ongoing efforts to meet ADA compliance standards and enhance pedestrian and disability accessibility, construction crews will be performing work at the intersection of Milford Street and South Division Street from Monday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 23, 2025, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
During this time, temporary sidewalk closures and traffic control patterns will be in place to protect the safety of motorists and pedestrians in the area. All traffic control signage will be clearly marked, and residents are asked to use caution, follow posted signs, and allow extra time when traveling through the construction zone.
Mayor Randy Taylor said, “This sidewalk upgrade is part of an ongoing effort to make the City of Salisbury more ADA accessible. The City is focused on making these improvements proactively whenever possible, as it offers a lot of value in much needed mobility for the disabled community.”
July is Disability Pride Month. 35 years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a landmark legislation was signed into law on July 26, 1990. The ADA benefits all people, not just Americans with Disabilities.
“Enhancing accessibility across Salisbury is not just about infrastructure, it’s about inclusion,” said City of Salisbury Councilwoman Michelle Gregory, “These improvements reflect our continued commitment to making sure everyone can move through our city with ease and independence.”
The City of Salisbury appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to make Salisbury a safer and more accessible community.
