GMB Announces Promotions

Cathy Lyons

Salisbury, MD — George, Miles & Buhr, LLC (GMB) announces several key leadership and staff promotions, recognizing the dedication and accomplishments of its talented team.

Andrew J. Lyons, Jr., P.E. has been promoted to Senior Vice President and now serves on GMB’s Board of Members. Andrew joined GMB in 2003 following his graduation from the University of Delaware with a degree in civil engineering. As a Project Director within the Civil/Municipal Group, he is based in GMB’s Sussex County, Delaware offices. Andrew currently serves as Town Engineer for the Town of Millville, City Engineer for the City of Lewes, and supports the Town of Ellendale on various municipal initiatives.

Benjamin K. Hearn, P.E. has been promoted to Vice President. He began his career with GMB as an intern in 2014 and became a full-time employee upon graduating from the University of Delaware in 2016 with a civil engineering degree. As a Senior Project Manager, Ben plays an integral role in municipal projects for the City of Seaford, the City of Lewes, and the Lewes Board of Public Works.

Bradley J. Hogan, P.E. has been named an Associate of the firm. He began working part-time in GMB’s Sparks office while pursuing his civil engineering degree at the University of Maryland and joined the firm’s Water/Wastewater Group full-time in 2018. As a Project Manager, Bradley works closely with municipalities including Hampstead, Perryville, Manchester, New Windsor, Cecilton, and Harford County.

Deane L. Townsend, AIA has also been promoted to Associate. He joined GMB’s Architectural Group in 2016 as a college intern and now serves as an Architect and Project Manager in the Salisbury office. Deane holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland (2020). His recent projects include the newly opened Federalsburg Health Center and a new municipal complex in Dewey Beach, Delaware, comprising a Town Hall, Police Department, and EMS building.

Sheryll Harrold has been promoted to Senior Project Coordinator. Sheryll joined GMB in 2018, bringing with her 29 years of experience from a previous role at an electrical engineering firm. She has experience in Federal and State Grant applications, construction documents, and contract administration. Sheryll holds an associate degree in Executive Secretarial from Delaware Technical & Community College.

Derek Adams has been promoted to Construction Representative. Derek joined GMB’s Seaford office in 2018 as a Resident Project Representative (RPR). Prior to GMB, he worked as a commercial electrician in Maryland.  While serving as a member of the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Derek received several accolades, including Top 10 Fire Responder and Top 3 EMS Responder.  At GMB, he has led RPR efforts for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Derek also holds a NASSCO certification in Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) application.

Cathy Lyons has been promoted to Assistant Project Manager.  Cathy joined GMB’s Site Sustainable Group in 2003 as a Project Coordinator.  She has extensive experience in agency permitting, scheduling and planning, contract administration, and client relations.  Her contributions have supported numerous land development projects, including Americana Bayside, Bishops Landing, The Estuary, Oaks at Georgetown, Brentwood, and more.  Cathy also serves as the Administrative Group Leader for GMB’s East Region offices.

Erin Sensenig has been promoted to Project Coordinator. Erin joined GMB’s Salisbury office in 2021 as an Administrative Assistant, bringing prior experience in customer service, sales, and management. She has worked closely with Project Coordinators and embraced training opportunities to expand her skills and responsibilities.  Erin also plays a key role in organizing office morale and engagement activities. She is a graduate of Delmar High School and attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Wor-Wic Community College.
