Salisbury, MDHudson Behavioral Health proudly marked a major milestone this September — celebrating 45 years of service, support, and transformation. To honor the occasion, the leadership team, staff, Board of Directors, and community partners gathered at the Enrichment Center, where more than 100 attendees came together to reflect on Hudson’s journey and impact.

Founded in 1980 by Mr. Willis Hudson Sr. — a recovering alcoholic with a vision for change — alongside a group of dedicated community advocates, the organization began as the Friends of the Hudson Center, offering treatment exclusively for men struggling with alcoholism.

Today, Hudson has grown into a comprehensive behavioral health provider with over 125 team members, multiple facilities, and a range of programs serving individuals across Maryland and Delaware.

Hudson offers the full continuum of care, including detoxification, high and medium intensity residential treatment, six low-intensity recovery houses, two sober living homes in Georgetown, Delaware, and its most recent addition — a newly opened Outpatient Mental Health Center.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Wicomico County Council Vice President Jeff Merritt presented an official proclamation recognizing Hudson’s contributions to the region. A highlight of the event was a heartfelt dedication ceremony honoring CEO Leslie Brown. In recognition of her years of leadership and unwavering commitment, the Enrichment Center was officially renamed the Leslie Brown Enrichment Center.

“Hudson’s story is one of compassion, courage, and community,” said CEO Leslie Brown. “As we look to the future, we remain committed to evolving in response to the needs of those we serve—striving every day to build a healthier, more hopeful tomorrow for our families, friends, and neighbors.”
