Salisbury, MD — The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES), in partnership with RPS and Gallagher, hosted its largest-ever Disc Golf Tournament on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Schumaker Pond Park in Salisbury. The annual event brought together 41 teams and raised a record $35,000, pushing the tournament’s total impact to more than $210,000 since its inception.
All proceeds support United Way’s Imagination Library program, which delivers free, high-quality books directly to children’s homes each month from birth to age five. Since its launch in July 2012 with just 156 children, the local program—supported by partners like PNC’s Grow Up Great initiative and TidalHealth SmartStart—has now reached over 20,000 children, distributing more than 564,000 books to Lower Shore families.

“Thanks to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and players, this tournament continues to make a real difference for local children,” said Pam Gregory, President & CEO of UWLES. “Every $30 raised from this incredible partner-driven event provides a full year of books for a child, helping families build home libraries and nurture early learning opportunities.”

Participants enjoyed a day of friendly competition, prizes, and community spirit. The tournament featured contests for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive, a 50/50 raffle, and a post-game awards lunch sponsored by RPS. Refreshments were generously donated by Pepsi, with additional support from Black Diamond Catering.

“Our sponsors and volunteers made this record-breaking event possible,” said Steve Robinson, representing RPS. “It was incredible to see so many colleagues from all over the U.S. supporting RPS and the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s Imagination Library program.”

The funds raised will help provide a year’s worth of books for more than 1,000 local children, continuing United Way’s mission to empower every child to thrive.
