The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce – Education Committee Network (SACC-EN) and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) encourage all readers and Delmarva residents to check out the latest episode of “Education is Everybody’s Business (EIEB)” on PAC-14 and YouTube. In this exciting and informative episode, we explore the timely topic of “The Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Classroom & Workplace”. In addition, this year the show promotes America’s Semiquincentennial National Initiative with the theme “The Shore Celebrates 250 Years (1776 – 2026)” and a show-closing “Did You Know?” Shore-based Historical Fact.
Show Host and Content Developer Dr. Ladd Colston, CEO of Sustainable Visions, LLC, interviews four (4) invited guests at the national, state, and local levels, including a career & technical education (CTE) instructor and an enrolled CTE student from Wicomico County Public Schools. All four guests share their knowledge, active engagement, and experience in the co-piloting of Humans and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the classroom and the workplace.
Dr. Colston interviews Dr. Samantha Holquist, Director of Education Research for Child Trends, a National Research organization, Mr. Richard Kincaid, Assistant State Superintendent, Division of College & Career Pathways for the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Ms. Jamie Brandenburg, Cisco Academy, Career & Technical Education (CTE) – Artificial Intelligence Instructor, Wicomico County Public Schools, and Mr. Elliott Demone, CTE student and AI User currently enrolled in the Wicomico County Public Schools. As is noted in this episode, nearly half of students nationwide are using AI for schoolwork, often without guidance from teachers or school systems. As a direct result, many students are losing their ability to think critically, and many are suffering from mental health risks.
Viewers of this special episode will come away with knowledge of a research-based & field-tested framework for guiding AI integration in schools and preparing students to Think, Create, and Thrive. They will learn how AI is being incorporated into Maryland’s Blueprint and into AI-infused curriculum pilot programs across the state. Lastly, viewers will see and hear how AI is being taught as a career skill field and a learning tool for classroom projects and assignments.
