The Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) Delmarva is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant from the M&T Bank Foundation this week. This vital support will directly strengthen SoSA’s gleaning and food recovery efforts across the Delmarva region, enabling the organization to share 80,000 servings of fresh, nutritious food with individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
“We are deeply grateful for the M&T Bank Foundation’s commitment to fighting hunger in our communities,” said Jean Siers, Regional Director of Society of St. Andrew Delmarva. “Their partnership helps us to strengthen our program, work with more farmers and ensure that our neighbors in need are fed.”
The grant will bolster SoSA’s work with local farmers, volunteers, and hunger‑relief partners to harvest and distribute surplus produce throughout Delaware, Maryland, and Eastern Shore Virginia. With food insecurity continuing to affect thousands of households across the region, this support arrives at a critical time.
For more than 40 years, the Society of St. Andrew has led the nation in gleaning and produce rescue, connecting excess farm abundance with people facing hunger. The Delmarva region plays a key role in this mission, thanks to its rich agricultural landscape and strong network of community partners.
