Wor-Wic Community College will hold a free virtual information session about its computer studies programs on Monday, April 6, at 7 p.m., via Zoom for anyone interested in learning more about degree, transfer and career opportunities in the computer field.
The information session will highlight two newly added computer degrees that were designed to meet growing workforce and transfer demands in the technology sector: a computer science transfer associate of science (A.S.) degree and a cybersecurity associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degree.
The computer science transfer A.S. degree is designed for students planning to continue their education at a four-year institution. It was developed in conjunction with Salisbury University to allow students to enter with junior standing. The program provides a strong foundation in programming, problem-solving and computer science theory, preparing graduates for seamless transfer into bachelor’s degree programs in computer science and related fields.
The computer technology, cybersecurity concentration A.A.S. degree is a career-focused program that equips students with the technical skills needed to protect systems, networks and data in an increasingly digital world. Students will gain hands-on experience in areas such as network security, ethical hacking and risk management, preparing them for entry-level roles in cybersecurity and IT support.
