Hebron, MD — Hebron Savings Bank today announced the launch of the Hebron Savings Bank Emerging Leaders Scholarship, a new initiative designed to support graduating high school seniors from Maryland’s Eastern Shore who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and an interest in pursuing careers in business, finance, or related fields.
Beginning in 2026, Hebron Savings Bank will award two scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester counties. Each recipient will receive $4,000 in scholarship support, distributed as $1,000 per year for up to four years, to assist with college tuition expenses.
In addition to financial assistance, scholarship recipients will be offered paid summer internship opportunities at Hebron Savings Bank following their freshman, sophomore, and junior years of college. These internships will provide hands-on experience in business and finance.
“This scholarship reflects our deep commitment to the communities we serve,” said Jennifer A. Poulsen, Chief Executive Officer and President of Hebron Savings Bank. “By supporting local students in their pursuit of higher education and providing real-world professional experience, we are investing in the next generation of leaders who will help shape the future of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.”
The program is designed to have a lasting impact. Two new recipients will be selected each year, allowing the scholarship to support multiple students simultaneously as the program grows. The scholarship was created to reinforce the organization’s shared commitment to education, workforce development, and community advancement.
Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors from public high schools in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, or Worcester counties who plan to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university and demonstrate leadership potential, community involvement, and interest in business-related fields.
Applications will open April 6, 2026 with a submission deadline of May 15, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified in June.
Students, parents, and school counselors interested in learning more about the scholarship program or obtaining application materials may contact their school’s counselor or visit any Hebron Savings Bank location.
