Salisbury, MD — MAC, Your Area Agency on Aging, will host its annual Cancer Survivor Celebration on Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at MAC, located at 909 Progress Circle in Salisbury.

This free community event is held in recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day, observed each year on the first Sunday in June. The celebration oƯers survivors, families, caregivers, and community members a meaningful opportunity to honor life, celebrate hope, and recognize the resilience of those impacted by cancer.

The program will begin in the Bradford Room and will feature a special cancer survivor guest speaker sharing her personal story of strength and perseverance. Following the indoor program, guests will gather in MAC’s Healing Rose Garden for a special outdoor butterfly release symbolizing hope, healing, and renewal.

Light refreshments will be served during the event.

The Cancer Survivor Celebration is open free of charge to cancer survivors, patients, and the caregivers who support them. “This is always a meaningful event. We take time to acknowledge the challenges of cancer and its treatment, but also the advancements in medicine, and the power of hope and solidarity among survivors and their caregivers,” said Robin Ritchie, Cancer Survivorship Coordinator. “We want to spread the message that people are not alone in their struggles. Others have walked in those shoes and can oƯer hope for living a meaningful life.”

This annual gathering is designed to celebrate life, resilience, and the milestones reached by survivors – whether they are newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, or years into recovery.
