Salisbury, MD — Wicomico County is pleased to announce that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), through the U.S. Department of Transportation, has awarded $1,750,000 under the FY 2026 FAA Contract Tower (FCT) Program for improvements at Salisbury-Ocean City: Wicomico Regional Airport (SBY).
The funding will support the replacement of interior air traffic control tower consoles and associated equipment, helping modernize critical infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency at the airport.
“This investment is another important step forward for Salisbury Regional Airport and our continued commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and modern aviation infrastructure,” said Julie Giordano. “We are grateful to Congressman Andy Harris and our federal partners for supporting projects that strengthen transportation and economic development opportunities for Wicomico County and the entire region.”
Andy Harris added, “Wicomico Regional Airport is a critical transportation hub for Maryland’s First District, driving commerce, travel, and economic activity across the region. The FAA award will fund air traffic control tower operations at Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport and maintain commercial air service. The grant was awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration and announced by the Office of Representative Andy Harris.
