Salisbury, MD — MAC, the non-profit, state-designated agency that provides services and information to older adults at the local level, invites the community to celebrate wellness, connection and active living at the inaugural Senior Fest on Saturday, Oct. 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MAC, located at 909 Progress Circle in Salisbury.

Presented by Visiting Angels, Senior Fest expands MAC’s annual Soles for Seniors fundraiser into a free, family-friendly celebration for older adults, caregivers, families and community members of all ages.

The day will begin with the traditional Soles for Seniors 1-Mile Walk at 9 a.m. Attendees are then invited to stay and enjoy wellness information and screenings, engaging presentations, local resources, food and refreshments, games, balloon animals and a line dancing demonstration in the gym.

Additional activities will include live music by AMP Studio Bands, virtual dementia demonstrations and a Teen Tech Table offering hands-on technology assistance and learning opportunities. The event features giveaways like gift bags for the first 100 attendees, home efficiency kits designed to reduce utility bills (valued at $50 each, 1 per household), and drawings for great prizes.

“Senior Fest is an opportunity to celebrate longevity while highlighting the many resources that help older adults remain healthy, independent and connected,” said Nick Cranford, Community Relations and Development Manager. “We have something for everyone, so call the seniors in your life and show you care by inviting them to Senior Fest.”

The Soles for Seniors 1-Mile Walk begins at 9 a.m. Registration is $25 and that will include a Senior Fest T-shirt. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join the walk and show their support for older adults across the Lower Eastern Shore.

Admission to Senior Fest is free and open to all ages. Proceeds from the event will support MAC programs and services that help older adults thrive in their homes and communities throughout Maryland’s Lower Shore.

Community organizations and businesses are also invited to support Senior Fest through sponsorship opportunities.
