Hundreds of persons will be helped thanks to the recent Rotary Club of Salisbury A Round for the Community golf outing at Green Hill Country Club. A record large number of financial partners will allow the club to donate more than $26,000 to local non-profit organizations that will benefit students, military veterans, poor families, and others. Since its inception four years ago, the Rotary Club of Salisbury has raised nearly $90,000 to share with local non-profits through its A Round for the Community golf outing.
Noted club President Gus Lebois, “thanks to the generosity of Wicomico County businesses, organizations, and individuals, we can continue our work to make our area a better place in which to live, work, and visit”. Top teams in the competition were sponsored by Wealthspire Advisors, TidalHealth, Taylor Bank, and SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate.
This activity is just one of many the club offers to adhere to the Rotary motto of Service Above Self. Recent ones include helping renovate a house for homeless men at the Christian Shelter, delivering Meals on Wheels, displaying large American flags to raise money to benefit military veterans, collecting books for donation to the Friends Foundation of the Wicomico Public Library, providing new dictionaries to Wicomico County students, and distributing school supplies to youngsters at the recent Fresh Start program.
