Wor-Wic Community College will offer students the opportunity to study abroad in January. An immersion program will bring students to Edinburgh, Scotland, for two weeks of field- and classroom-based learning in communications and history. Upon the students’ return to the United States, the classes (COM 102 and HIS 151) continue online as part of the college’s first seven-week spring term. Students will earn six credits toward their degree.
From Jan. 1-16, students will live in Edinburgh, Scotland’s hilly capital city known for its medieval architecture. They will attend classes taught by Wor-Wic professors and take excursions to historical and cultural sites throughout the region. Students will also have some free time for exploration on their own.
Financial aid and external scholarships may be applied to the program. A passport is required and students should be in good standing.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience a new culture in person and see history first-hand,” said Dr. Deirdra G. Johnson, vice president for strategic initiatives and community engagement.
