SALISBURY, MD – The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) Beautification Committee proudly celebrates the success of its inaugural community beautification event, “Dig In, Salisbury!”, held on September 19 at the Riverside Traffic Circle.
The hands-on community effort brought together Salisbury residents, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) students and staff, local organizations, and community partners to enhance one of Salisbury’s most visible public spaces. Volunteers worked side by side to plant native species, refresh landscaping, and beautify the area for residents and visitors alike.
The Beautification Committee extends its sincere gratitude to the City of Salisbury for its generous support and partnership in making the project possible.
The event introduced a beautiful variety of native plants that support pollinators, strengthen local ecosystems, and contribute to a more sustainable and vibrant community. These native plants were generously provided by A Greener Side Native Plant Nursery, whose mission is to cultivate a sustainable future through hands-on education and regenerative farming practices while inspiring individuals to create positive environmental impact.
The Mill of Salisbury also donated beautiful seasonal mums that added color and charm to the revitalized landscape.
“We are incredibly grateful to the City of Salisbury, The Mill, and A Greener Side for their support of this important project,” said Alena Wright, Chairperson of the Beautification Committee. “Their commitment to environmental stewardship aligns perfectly with our vision for a greener and more beautiful Salisbury.”
“This project was truly a labor of love,” said the committee. “The overwhelming community support demonstrated the pride Salisbury residents have in their city.”
A special thank you goes to the many volunteers whose hard work and enthusiasm made the event a success. The committee also recognizes the dedication and leadership of its Beautification Committee members, whose planning and commitment brought the vision to life.
The SACC Beautification Committee welcomes new volunteers and members who are passionate about community improvement, environmental stewardship, and beautification projects throughout Salisbury.
