MCE Women’s Business Center Announces Free October Classes and Networking Event

SALISBURY, Md. — Maryland Capital Enterprises’ Women’s Business Center (MCE WBC) invites entrepreneurs, small business owners and community members to a full October lineup of free webinars and one in-person networking evening. Topics range from federal contracting and business funding to crowdfunding, registration and social media. Everyone is welcome.

Tuesday, October 6 | Noon–1 p.m. | SAM.gov Simplified
Roslyn Davis, president and CEO of RoDa Business Solutions and retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant, will explain how to complete a SAM.gov profile, assess eligibility for federal work, and position a business for contracts and grants. Online webinar.

Thursday, October 8 | Noon–1 p.m. | SBA Women-Owned Small Business Certification
Presented by the SBA Baltimore District Office and hosted by the Baltimore Metropolitan and MCE Women’s Business Centers, this webinar covers certification benefits, eligibility and the application process for women interested in government contracting.

Tuesday, October 13 | 5:30–7:30 p.m. | Ms. Womanspire Networking Event
Connect with other women during an in-person evening of networking, door prizes, food and drinks at 314 Civic Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21804. Nick Rudolph, MCE Baltimore regional director, and James W. Peterson Jr., M&T Bank vice president of multicultural banking, will discuss funding options, application requirements, common mistakes and questions from participants. Online webinar.

Wednesday, October 21 | Noon–1 p.m. | Crowdfunding with Purpose
Heather Wilson, co-founder and co-CEO of GiveSendGo, will share ways to tell a compelling story, build donor trust, use social media and keep supporters engaged in a crowdfunding campaign. Online webinar.

Wednesday, October 21 | 6–7:30 p.m. | Registering Your Business in the DMV
Attorneys Joanna Schindler and Tammy Hui of The Geller Law Group will explain entity choices, state and
local registration requirements, doing business across jurisdictions and trademark considerations in Virginia,
Maryland and Washington, DC. This partner webinar is hosted by the Women’s Business Center of Northern
