United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore Board and Staff Members Pledge Over $67,000

United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore recently held their annual Board and Staff Kickoff event, generating $67,304 for the upcoming campaign year. Hosted by Ginny and Walter Matern, the event serves as an internal kickoff of the campaign, allowing board and staff members to publicly announce their own personal contributions. United Way is proud to report a 7% increase in donations over last year. The goal for the 2015-2016 campaign is set at $1.65 million, to provide funding for local community impact programs in Education, Financial Stability and Health across the Lower Shore counties.

Kathleen Mommé, Executive Director of the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore shared, “This event marks the beginning of our new campaign season, and every year I am amazed by the generosity of this group of individuals who dedicate so much of their resources to our shared mission.   I have no doubt that this year will be a great success for the United Way, and for our community.”
