PRMC Generously Supports United Way

Peninsula Regional Medical Center Employees recently presented United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore with 2016 annual campaign contributions totaling a generous $134,934.11. This year’s contributions will impact Lower Shore residents in the areas of Education, Financial Stability and Health by providing:

In Education

  • 8,289 books for preschool-aged children in low-income households
  • 5 children with one year of after-school care, who would otherwise be home alone

In Financial Stability

  • 216 homeless families with food, household staples, bed linens and cleaning supplies when they move into their transitional home
  • 160,745 lbs. of emergency food to fill the shelves of a local food pantry

In Health

  • 43 dialysis patients with medical transportation for one year
  • 264 hours of hospice care for terminally ill patients who are uninsured

PRMC has a 53 year-long partnership with the local United Way. In the last 15 years, PRMC and their employees have raised nearly $1.7 million to benefit United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and the local community.

Kathleen Mommé, Executive Director of United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore shared, “PRMC employees continue to be a vital resource to our local United Way and our vulnerable neighbors on the Shore. As the second largest campaign among 250 organizations on the Shore, the hundreds of caring PRMC employees who support United Way demonstrate that ‘Great Things Happen When We Live United.’”
